Best supplements for heart health-These helped save my life at a young age

Before I knew what it took to protect my health years back I knew nothing about using supplements to assist the heart to be strong and better. Once I discovered the benefits of supplements I was able to use it in conjunction with the other heart health strengthening strategies.
I also found that not all supplements worked well with healing the heart or making it very stable and healthy in the long run. I have been able, through trial and error trying to heal the heart related condition (clogged arteries) I had at a young age, to find the best supplements for heart health which worked well in assisting me with regaining my heart health, which is what I will be unloading for you in this article.

Flaxseed-Omega 3 boosters

This was a supplement I used mainly as a way to unclog my arteries. Flaxseed are supplement filled with huge amounts of omega 3. They come normally in a golden bottle. They also have a see through color of Gold, as shown on the picture on the right.best supplements for heart health

Iron Supplements

Iron plays a huge role in terms of heart health. Iron is needed by the body since it produces more oxygen in the blood. This is essential because the more the heart has oxygen the more it can fight of other disease and be stronger.

This supplement is mostly used by pregnant women to help compensate the lack of oxygen which comes from the birth of the baby. So best supplements for heart healthpregnant women need extra oxygen since their system is shared with their unborn baby.

I used this supplement to help compensate the lack of oxygen I was having due to the blocked arteries I had had in my early 20s. More than that I had to use iron since I had only been eating less meat. This is an essential aspect I discovered when I was converting to eating a more plant based diet:that your body will not be getting the normal oxygen it was getting from your foods since meat is packed with iron. Obviously I was still staring out with my plant based diet so I was not informed at the time about the types of found I could substitute it with.

Calcium supplements

Calcium is an important nutrition for heart health, bone strength just to name a few benefits. When I started focusing on a plant based diet, especially the vegan diet, I found that I was lacking these nutrients since such a diet excludes any dairy products.

The reason I included this supplement is that calcium is what you will need the most especially when you are exercising to improve your heart health so you would want to ensure you are strong enough to be able to do this on a regular basis.

Below are the benefits of calcium in the body:

  • Improve heart health
  • Improve muscles

According to Mayo clinic if calcium is used with Vitamin D it can protect against high blood pressure and diabetes.

Combination is key-what worked well for my heart health

You will find that with the above supplements I just mentioned is that they work well mostly if they are consumed in conjunction with each other. Of course this can differ from person to person.

As I always say the foods or supplements that you use they are better used with some sort of exercise especially if you are looking to keep your heart health for long period (or permanently).

    Heart health is overlooked in the younger generation because we feel our hearts are already strong

    Not knowing that genetics play a vital role in our health.

    For instance I can eat one potato chip and my BP would shoot through the roof while my older co-worker can eat a family size bag and be at a stable pressure.

    The heart is the most vital muscle we have and it’s best to take care of it.

    I have recently started to get back active and lose this guy of mine. Nutrition plays a huge role and I’m curious to get your picks on heart healthy foods.

      Thank you very much Shannon. Heart health is indeed overlooked so much so that even the older generations do not see the need to advice their kids. This dangerous and that is what lead me to have problems in my early 20s. Indeed this subject has been my focus for 8 years. so yeah I do have a lot of personal expereince in that regard.

    I’m not a vegan, so I don’t supplement because I get these nutrients from the meats that I consume. However, I glad that you wrote this post to help people who are vegan correct the deficiencies in their diet. We all deserve to be healthy!

    great post! I am very much into all things health. I try very hard to stick to a plant based diet and not have too much processed food.
